Outlook closes when I reply

When I click <reply> in Outlook 2002 SP3, and position my cursor to begin
typing my reply, Outlook closes instantly and won't let me reply.
I can type a NEW outgoing message, or FORWARD a message, but can't reply.
I'm also having a problem with Word 2002 SP3. When I try to cut and paste,
it closes instantly and sometimes saves content as a template, sometimes not.
I'm running MS XP Home Edition ver 2002 service pack 2

First choose Detect & Repair from the Help drop down menu
of Outlook and Word (2 processes). If that doesn't the
problem, there are two other steps that will probably work.
1. Download and scan your hard drives with McAfee's Stinger
virus removal tool. http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/
2. Download, install, update and scan with Ad-aware SE:
