Outlook connector - won't connect

I can't get Outlook Connector to download anything or show any connection to
my HM acct. . It installed fine, just won't retrieve anything. I have a free
Hotmail Live acct and Outlook 2003.
The sever sync in the toolbar now shows "connecting" constantly. Yesterday
it showed that it couldn't connect because I needed a paid subscription acct.
Any ideas?

Have you already converted your account from the basic Hotmail interface to
the Live Hotmail interface? That is a requirement.

Yes, I've got a Live account. I changes it some time ago and when logged in
it says Live Hotmail.

Which version of the Outlook Connector are you using?
Tried recreating the account already?

Using the latest I assume as I just downloded it. It says 12.0.4518.1063.

Not sure what you mean by "recreating the account." Which account?

I found a registry fix in the KB "ZipRequestDisabled"
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/889697/en-us
Any idea if this would be the fix? It addresses the problem of OC
downloading zipped files and not connecting due to some virus scanning. Not
my real problem, but it's the only article that addresses OC not connecting.

Interesting article; never had read that one before yet
It's worth a shot if zip-attachments are involved in your case.

What I meant was; remove your Hotmail account via Tools-> Email Accounts,
restart Outlook and then add it again.
