Outlook crashes everytime I write "Regards"

We have recently installed Microsoft Office 2003 and on everyone's PCs it is
working besides for one. On this one PC every time you write a new mail or
reply and write Regards, it crashes on the a of Regards. We have reinstalled
Outlook and it is still not working properly. Does anyone have a solution ?

I would start by seeing if MS Word is used to edit email messages. To find
that out, click TOOLS / OPTIONS / MAIL FORMAT TAB and see if the box is
checked. If it is, uncheck it and see if the problem goes away. If the
problem does go away, you know that the issue is with Word and not Outlook.

Also make sure you have all the service packs installed as well.

Let us know what happens.

Thanks for your help!!
We do use Microsoft Word to edit e-mails. We have to have this enabled as we
use specialised Macros within our outlook. When I took this off the outlook
stopped crashing when I wrote certain words so it definately is a Word error.

IT in london handle all our faults, but they couldn't figure out what was
going wrong. I have just installed the new version of office and don't know
if the service packs have been installed. Is there anything I can do to
rectify this problem within Word ? I have tried to reinstall again but this
doesn't seem to help anything.

Do you have something strange in the AutoText options of Word?

Hello Brian,

Thanks ! That is the error definatey. I have deleted all the auto text
entries like Regards, Best Regards, Best Wishes and it seems to work now.
What a strange error !
