Outlook crashes on send using "new message to contact"

Hi there:

I select a number of contacts and then place them in the "To" field in an
e-mail message, by using the "new message to contact" under the Actions menu
(I'm on Outlook 2002).

When I hit send, Outlook crashes. If I'm lucky, it saved a copy in Drafts,
but sometimes not - either way, frustration.

Anyone know what's going on, or if there's a fix/workaround? the KB search
didn't help.
