Brad C.
I posted the following message yesterday. I would try
disabling instant messaging but as soon as Outlook opens
the it consumes 95-99% of the cpu and I am unable to do
anything with outlook. This problem just started a couple
of days ago and with a bunch of people. I originally
thought of a virus but after checking some sites and
running a virus scan none were found. Any advice on how
to fix a problem like this would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
Brad

Are they using Messenger as they work with outlook? Go to
tools>options>other-tab> dissable instant messaging,
close and restart Outlook... worked for me.
hope it Helps..

Recently 5 of my fellow employees have developed the same
problem using outlook xp. When they open outlook there
cpu usage of outlook shoots to 85-99% thus rendering them
unable to use outlook. I've shut Word off as their email
editor as that was a fix to this problem I found. I also
tried reinstalling office and repairing it, but still the
same thing happens, when outlook opens it eats so much
cpu that you can't do anything with it. It stops
responding. Any advice or help would be appreciated?
Thanks
Brad
