The date doesn't necessarily show when it was sent (unless you're looking in
the Sent Items folder). The date is in the header list above the reading
pane, usually after the subject. At any rate, you can add whatever date
field Outlook supports to that header with the Field Chooser. Right-click
the header, choose Field Chooser, then select the "Date/Time fields" from
the drop-down at the top. Drag the desired field to the header bar.
