Outlook dealing with selected messages!

P

Pierluigi

Hi all,
I have 3 problems and I think they are all related:

1) I did set up my IMAP and HTML mail accounts to download only the headers
of the messages it works, but *if I select a message* (without the Reading
Pane open) Outlook downloads the message body and Header status icon next to
the message changes in "downloaded".

2) This one looks like a bug but I'm sure it is related to the previous one:
I compose a message click on "send" and the message goes to the Outbox, *if
I select the message* the icon changes to edit mode and the message cannot
be sent

3) I did uncheck the "send immediately when connected" and "send mail items"
from the send/receive options but if there is a message in the Outbox it
will be sent by Outlook

Can some one please help me find out what is wrong?
I did reinstall all after the XP SP2 and the Office 2003 SP1 where released,
all was working fine before with the same software!
As you can see the 1) and 2) have in common the *if I select the message* I
can't understand which action is performed as I select the message!!!
Some help will be greatly appreciated

Thank you,
Pierluigi

YOu may have an add-in installed that performs operations on the selected
message that cause this. It's not something that Outlook by itself would do.

I agree that it looks like a bug in outlook 2003. If a message is selected in
the outbox (by a left-click with the mouse or with the arrow keys on the
keyboard) , its icon changes to edit-mode and the date in the Sent- column
changes to "none". Only this selected message will not be sent during a
send/receive, all other messages are.
If there is only one message in the outbox, it's automatically selected and
this prevents it from being sent during a send/receive. Clicking somewhere
else in the space under the messages in the outbox doesn't deselect the
message.

I found out two ways to work-around this problem:

1.Pressing the Ctrl key and clicking the message deselects the message but
it is still in edit-mode and not sent. To resend it you have to open it
again without selecting the message: rightclick the message and choose open
from the rightclick-menu. After resending the message it's finally not
highlighted in the outbox and sending it is no problem.

2.Always store an fake message in the outbox and keep it selected during a
send/receive, so you can send all the other messages.

Any other solutions?
