Outlook (Dial-in) Performance While On-the-Road

Using Microsoft Outlook 2000, our response time (overall performance) shows
a tremendous decrease in performance for our off-site or on-the-road laptop
users (using Dial-in).

Can anyone please tell me if there are options in Outlook that I can may be
turn-off to improve Outlook Performance while on-the-road ??
