outlook disappears at startup

I am running Office 2002 on ME. Outlook will open briefly, begin downloading mail, then simply vanish! There are no error messages. I have re-installed Office twice with the same result. I am current with security updates. I have mail being held hostage in there! Please help! Thanks

Run scanpst.exe against your pst-file and see if it comes up with anything.
