I added a new POP3 email account but cannot receive email using Outlook 2003.
My new mail account uses the same server for both sending and receiving
email, on ports 110 and 25. I can send email on that account using Outlook,
but I cannot receive. I do not get any error message; it just appears that I
do not have any new emails in my inbox (which is not true). I can telnet to
the mail host and view my emails via telnet.
I can send and receive email without any trouble from several other mail
hosts.
I can receive email from my new account with an old copy of Outlook Express
under Windows 98 but not with Outlook 2003 under Windows XP SP1 or Outlook
2000 SP3 under Windows 98 SR2.
My ISP (Qwest) is not blocking sending or receiving on any port. Outlook
works fine with several other mail accounts--just not this one.
Can someone please help?
