outlook doesn't save sent messages

I have been using outlook for mail for about three years but suddenly it has
stopped saving sent mail in the sent mail folder. I have checked the set up
and the box is checked. I have archived some mail to see if that was a
problem but it still exsits. Any help appreciated.

Version of Outlook? Resetted your view already to make sure no filter is
applied?

You may have exceeded the limit of the number of items that can be held in
a folder (a bit over 16000). Try deleting/removing some items from your
Sent Items...
