As soon as I upgraded my system from windows 98 to XP,
Outlook will not show me new messages as they arive. When
I open an old e-mail, I will receive a whole batch of new
e-mails that are up to an hour old. I use this computer on
a network and am conected at all times. Any help would be
great!

I assume that you have an Exchange server. The problem is that the "UDP
packets" that Exchange is sending to Outlook to let it know that there's new
mail aren't reaching Outlook. This could be because of misconfiguration of
a router, proxy server, or firewall. Have your network administrator look
into these (and look at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;815052) to see if
those might be the problem. If they aren't, make the registry changes in
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q305572 (for Outlook
2002) or http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q304849
(for Outlook 2000) to cause Outlook to start asking Exchange whether there's
new mail rather than waiting for Exchange to notify it.
