Outlook email inbox slow in responding

My e-mail Inbox and Sent Mail folders are painfully slow
in displaying messages, new and old. The other Outlook
features respond quickly (Contacts, Tasks, etc.). Any
ideas on how to fix this? I made the switch from OE to
Outlook, thinking it would help my productivity, but have
been very frustrated by the s-l-o-w response when viewing
emails. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
