Outlook Email migration

I have a desk top PC with Windows 98SE and using Office
2000. I backup all my data including "Favourites", Email
messages (Outlook.pst) and Email addresses to a Lacie
external removable disk.

I now have a Lap Top with Windows XP and using Office
2003. I can access the Lacie external removable disk from
the Lap Top and I want to migrate, "Favourites", Email
messages (Outlook.pst) and Email addresses. Is the
migration possible? Do I use "Copy & Paste" and to which
to folder do I migrate them? Are there special procedures
to be adopted?

How did you back them up?

Your PST contains all your messages, Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, and so on.
I have no idea what you mean when you talk about backing up your email
addresses.

Copy the PST to some folder on your hard drive (making sure you don't
overwrite any PST of the same name) and then, in Outlook, click
File>Open>Outlook Data File, browse to the PST, select it, and click OK.
You'll now have access to all your old stuff. I don't know if the OL 2000
favorites file is compatible with OL 2003, but enable seeing hidden files
and folders and look in %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Outlook for a ".fav" file. If
there, note its name and rename it. Then copy the favorites file from OL
2000 to that same folder, naming it the same name as the favorites file you
just renamed. The next time you start Outlook, it may use the file. If not
(because the file format changed between versions), rename the orginal one
back to what it was. You'll have to recreate your favorites.
