When trying to send receive email I always get this error:
0x80042108
The system is on a Windows 2000 Server with the pst on the
shared folder.
I have tried to remove and re add the email account create
a new pst file.
Tried to flush dns cache
Ran all possible updates
Change user profiles (created a new user and working pop3
email account).
The pop3 server is on an ISP and works from the other PC.
This error is vague and my troubleshooting is exhausted.
I have even tried to reformat re install windows 2000
professional from scratch run all updates.
Install office 2003 Basic Edition
Install office service pack
Still same error from this work station.
No other software is installed.
Another work station can access email with the same pst
file and send receive. When I close this work station try
the defective one and the error 0x80042108 exists.
I have also tried this previously with Mcafee Virus
scanner but after reformatting I left it off to eliminate
it as a possibility.
Any suggestions?
