Outlook.exe application error

R

Ron W

I have a user who has been getting a error message similar to a few other
posts here.....and I have yet to see anyone resolve the problem, MVPs and
microsoft personnel and experts included...

The text of the message is:

The instruction 0x6f9ac3dd referenced memory at 0x000000c5. The memory could
not be read.

Now the only thing I can see that could be a part of this problem is that
the user has a Palm V that he synchs at work and at home under two different
OSes.....Windows NT at work, and Windows XP at home...

Any assistance with resolution would be appreciated, but I am not holding my
breath as this topic has been ignored for the most part..

SYMPTOMS
When you send a message to three or more personal distribution lists (PDL)
from your Contacts folder that are not in your Outlook 2000 Address Book, it
may cause access violation and you may receive the following error message:
Outlook.exe - Application Error
------------------------------------------------------------------
"The instruction at "0xXXXXXXXX" referenced memory at "0xXXXXXXXX"
The memory could not be "Read"
CAUSE
This problem can occur because Outlook 2000 cannot obtain the folder
properties when a Contacts folder does not appear in an Outlook Address Book.
