Outlook.exe

I just purchased a Dell Dimension 2400 running XP Home
Edition.
When I use outlook and attempt to exit the program, or
shut down the computer I keep getting an error message
that outlook.exe is still running.
Sometimes I have use end program 8 or 9 times before the
computer will shut down.
Is this a microsoft issue, a dell issue, and is there
someway I can fix this situation.

Depends, have you installed any software, particularly that which interacts
with OL. eg Fax, Synchronisation. Or are you using preinstalled software?

I had the same problem with OL 2000 and it was cured with OL XP. There are
lots of postings on this. I would suggest you search this Newsgroup and the
Internet site, slipstick.com. This problem and others are annoyances that we
users just can't believe MS allows to happen but that's life in the "we are
the MS's beta testers" world. Roll over like the rest of us have.
