When closing it hangs at the window 'please wait while Outlook exits'. This message can be left and Outlook opened again, but it will still not disapear even when Outlook is open. Only way to close it is to go into task manager and end the mapi and outlook exe. I have logged the user to a different machine, given him a new network profile, new Outlook profile none have worked. Any suggestions?

Hi Ell,

If the issue is following the user to other machines the problem is most
likely the mailbox itself.

Export the contents of the mailbox to a PST (either via Exmerge or in the
Outlook client itself), delete the existing mailbox then create a new one.
Before you import the data from the PST test the new mailbox first to verify
that the issue was corrected. After importing the data test again as
sometimes the issue can actually be corrupted data but usually it is the
mailbox.
