Outlook Express 6 backup

I am attempting to back up Outlook Express 6 on a Windows
ME machine.
The instructions in the help file were totally unhelpful.
It was something like "select folder, compress, find file
folder, copy it." No hints as to file name, type, or
location.

I tried the Knowledge Base Article (2706760), which was
inaccurate.

First, I tried copying and pasting the folder name, then
I tried navigating to it in "browse" It would not read
it beyond the space in "Application Data" and said it
could not find the file.

This is really frustrating! This backup is taking way
longer than it should.

Thanks in advance.

Try here:

This group is for Outlook 97, 98, 2000, 2002 and 2003, part of the Office
suite. Not Outlook EXPRESS, which despite its name is in fact a completely
different program.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Unfortunately,
I still need help getting to that newsgroup, as I can't
get it to load properly from the link. It doesn't open
messages reliably or, apparently, anytime this year and I
can't search it (not that Microsoft's search is ever very
useful)

BTW, I am well aware that they are different programs,
but there is neither a newsgroup for Outlook Express nor
a newsgroup for Internet Explorer in the normal
newsgroups, which is why I posted here. It was the
closest I could find.

I tried to find an Outlook Express newsgroup. I tried to
find an Internet Explorer newsgroup. I looked for IE
under Windows too, but no luck there either. I tried
under "other newsgroups" and could not find it. Is that
newsgroup even still active?

While I appreciate your getting back to me, I do wish the
Outlook Express newsgroup were in the same universe as
the rest of the Microsoft newsgroups!

Perhaps the answer is to use OE itself to read news instead of the HORRIBLE
web interface.

I'm not using Outlook Express, I'm backing up a machine
that does, but I found the newsgroup anyway, which is
nice, since I couldn't read messages from the link.
Thanks for the hint as to the location of the OE
newsgroup.
