Outlook Express 6 compacting issue

Yappy Box

I am using Outlook Express 6 and I can't get rid of the message: "To free up
disk space Outlook Express can compact messages. This may take up to a few
minutes."
I do not want to compact and have clicked "Don't show this message again"
but the message still pops up EVERY TIME I CLOSE OUTLOOK EXPRESS.
Has anyone come up with this problem and found a solution to fix it. It is
very annoying.
Thanks. Yappy Box

Outlook Express is not a MS Office application.

I strongly recommend you actually do the compacting to avoid serious
potential problems.

Visit the Outlook Express newsgroups, post your question there, and find out
why.

You MUST compact to remove dead/empty space from deleted e-mail. You
will eventually be unable to load it if you insist on avoiding normal
maintenance. The solution is to allow the maintenance procedure of
compact to proceed.
