Outlook Express 6 (Outgoing Attachments)

When sending emails with attachments (Excel or Word) the
email appears in the sent folder, but I receive the
following error message

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection.
Possible causes for this include server problems, network
problems, or a long period of inactivity.
Account: 'mail.btinternet.com',
Server: 'mail.virgin.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110,
Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

On checking with the recipient, I discover that nothing
was received. I'm Using Norton Antirus & Personal
Firewall and it could be this that is causing some sort
of conflict ?

Can anyone help ?
