Outlook Express and Outlook Mail Accounts

My internet service provider has set up outlook express (and has declined to
set up outlook which came with my Office program). In trying to set up
Outlook, do I need to establish a separate mail account, or can I use the
same one that I am using for OE?

You have to set up the mail account in Outlook before you can use Outlook to
send and receive emails. You can either do an Import of settings from OE
(easiest) or you can do it manually.

use the same one you use for OE - you can either export it from OE to OL or
set it up yourself, using the same information used in OE.

Thanks for responding. I am still a bit new with computers and am having
some difficulty in importing from OE. Is there somewhere you might refer me
for help, or is it simple enough to just give me some instructions here?
Thanks in advance, Cat.

In Outlook, go to File | Import and Export, and select Import Internet Mail
Account Settings from the list. It should be straightforward from there.

I am using Outlook 97, and don't find anything that refers to internet mail
account settings. Am I doing something wrong?

Then you may need to install the Internet Mail Enhancement Patch. Look here
for more info:

I can't promise that Outlook 97 will have the same import/export options as
later versions...you'll have to see once you've installed the IMEP. It's
been a very long time since I used Outlook 97. Hope it works for you.
