Outlook Express format copied to Word

When I copy an email form Outlook Express into Word in Office 98, I get
little arrows with a 90 degree tail at the end of sentences. In trying to do
a quick removal of this symbol through edit, replace, special, I can't find a
name for this arrow. Is there one & can it be downloaded & incorportated
into this version of Word?

Sounds like a manual line break. The arrow goes to the left, and the tail
points up?

By the way, if you are using MacOffice 98 and that wasn't a typo for Office
97, you should at least be aware that Mac-specific newsgroups exist:
