outlook express in a workgroup

Outlook EXPRESS doesn't have a calendar nor can it connect to an
Exchange server to use shared folders or calendars.

If you really meant how to collaborate with others and where all
participants are using Outlook then you want to find collaboration
software that can use Outlook's sharing features but without having to
use Exchange as the server. I don't use any but I know how to Google.
