outlook express opens but ends up not responding

I am trying to get help with my Outlook Express. It will open, and I can see
my in box folders and such, but then I get it is not responding. So I can
not view mail or send -- nothing!
I don't know what to do, can some one please help??

Wrong newsgroup. This one is for Outlook. Outlook and Outlook Express
are unrelated products. Repost to a newsgroup for Outlook *EXPRESS*.
