Outlook Express - Remote Access.

M

Mike

I have an email acct at work which I access through
outlook. I have recently tried to log into the same
account remotely from a laptop, whilst the outlook account
at work is still open and waiting to recieve messages.
The problem is when I do this all new messages and
messages stored in my inbox at work are downloaded to the
laptop and hence dissappear from the inbox at work.
<Frusturating !!>

I only really need read access to my mail from the laptop,
Is there a way to gain read access to my account from the
laptop whilst keeping the primary work instance unaffected.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Mike

Hi Michael,

If when checking e-mail from multiple machines all of your mail disappears
from the server, then it must be getting pulled to one of the machines.
Macke sure that you are not delivering new e-mail to a local PST file.
Also, make sure that if you are using a POP3 account you set the option for
"leave a copy of message on server." Here is an article that talks about
setting up new profiles in Outlook 2002.
