outlook express removing unsafe attachment

I have a problem with outlook express and a recently downloaded firewall,
Zonelab.

After subscribing to wanadoo broadband then installing zonelab firewall free
from their site, attachments that are anything other than .docs are dimmed
out and cannot be opened. I've tried uninstalling Zonelab to no avail. Under
the toolbar of the message containing the attachment reads:

'OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments in your mail:
..........rft' for example.
