Outlook Express taking email from Outlook 2003

My System is Windows Xp which has all current updates.I have in Tools,
Options, Programs designated Outlook 2003 as my email program. In fact I did
so three to four years ago, and all has been well. It is still designated as
my email program. I use Outlook express and sometimes Rover as my newsgroups
readers. Recently if I am using Outlook EXpress for news, it takes the
incoming email into its email program. I want the email to remain with
Outlook 2003. Any idea what's wrong and how do I correct the problem?
Obviously I could avoid the problem by not using Outlook Express and using
the Rover reader. However I prefer Outlook Express for the news groups and
Outlook 2003 for my email.

Thanks
