Outlook Express & Windows 2000 Professional

Perplexed OE user

I've recently started getting bizarre error messages when I'm on my computer:
These error messages have been flaky ("you do not have permission are not
authorized to shut down this computer" to "cannot find outlook express, you
will need to reinstall" (but then I close and reopen it and the error message
doesn't repeat, and "no memory" error messages (but the cpu memory is not in
use). And many more odd and fluky error messages.
Anyone recognize this problem or have ideas? Is there an update?
1. I've done full restart and shutdowns, and the problem has persisted
2. I've run the computer without Outlook Express or Internet Explorer open
3. The only programs I recently installed were a bounceback backup software
program and also sony cybershot software to upload pictures from the camera
4. I've run and rerun anti-virus software and everything checks out okay
5. Nothing else has changed

Do you have other anti-malware installed, or just anti-virus? Check your
system for other spyware, trojans, and other malware.

If you think that the problem originates from Outlook Express, post your
question in an Outlook Express group such as
