happened once before and I was able to locate it and click it back on....but
not this time! Did Microsoft remove it? and why? please help!

No, Microsoft did not remove MS Outlook Express; but, depending upon what
application you have installed, it may have been hidden. I don't think that
MS Outlook does anything like that, though, so I am unclear about why you
are asking in an MSOL group. Tell us more...

Yes, Outlook does tend to hide Outlook Express. Even if OE is chosen as the
default application for mail (and for newsgroups), updates for Outlook (such
as those in yesterday's "2nd Tuesday in the month" batch) tend to make
Outlook the default application. One then has to start Outlook Express
separately (so it is useful to include it specifically in the Start menu),
and reaffirm that it should be the default.

In all the years I've been using Outlook and Outlook Express on the same PC,
this has never been the case for me.

You're in the wrong newsgroup. Outlook Express questions go in
microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general

Changing the defaults is one thing, hiding it is another. AFAIK, MSOL does
not mark 'msimn.exe' as a hidden file, as another application does, so it
won't show up in a search.
