How can I make non-Outlook folders not deletable or renameable? I have
certain standard folders I want to ensure cannot be deleted either on purpose
or by accident. I have been unable to find a process on the internet. Any
help will be appreciated.
Often what you can do in Outlook depends a lot on WHICH version of
Outlook that you are using. You didn't mention the version of Outlook.
However, if you can create a folder then you can also do other
operations on it, like moving, renaming, and deleting it. The control
is yours.
Learn to do daily backups of your system. Then when you "accidentally"
delete something inside your message store, you can revert back to the
prior day's .pst file to recover from your mistake. If you don't do
backups, you have deemed your data as worthless or reproducible. How
often you do backups dictates how granular a window is the opportunity
for recovery.
Of course, you could retrieve the just-deleted folder from the "Deleted
Items" folder and put it back where it was.
