Outlook Freezes Up

When I open Outlook (MS Office 2003) it freezes up. Everything has been
working perfectly until today. Did a couple of reboots & virus scan, no
help. Had to ctrl/alt/delete to close the program which takes a painfully
long time. IE, OE and everything else seems to work perfectly as well as the
rest of the system (XP Home). Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

WIth Outlook closed, try renaming the file
%AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook\outcmd.dat

Thanks for the info

I tried as you suggested to no avail.

FYI, the problem has seemingly been solved by assessing mail through the isp
(Yahoo) mail client and found one message which locked the computer up upon
trying to open the thing. I deleted the message and everything is working
perfectly now.
Again, I do appreciate your time & effort to assist in addressing the issue.
Thank You
