Outlook freezes when adding attachments

Every time we try to add an attachment, the computer freezes up for 4-6 minutes at a time, regardless of the size of file. Mostly, we attach Excel files and word files, but this also happens with .pdf files. This occurs with files from our server, as well as from the computer itself. A lot of the times, we are sending multiple files at once, and the spreadsheets are not overly sized. They attach fine from other computers. We are using Office 2003 products. What could possibly be causing such a lag when adding attachments??? Thanks!

Are you using mapped network drives?

Yes we are. But like I said, it doesnt effect everyone. Just one computer in particular. And also, it will bog down even when attaching something from (for example) the desktop or My Docs.

Do they have a persistent mapped drive rather than logging in every morning
and running a login script that deletes the drives and remaps them?
