Outlook freezes when opening first email

I'm having a problem with Outlook. Outlook is freezing
when I attempt to open an email in my inbox (this can be
any email, not just a particular one). If I let it sit
for 5 minutes, the email message will finally come up.
Once this message comes up, I can close it and open all
email as expected (no freezing). Running "Detect and
Repiar" hasn't helped the situation. This is a typical
home install of Office XP, connected to broadband
(comcast).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Found the problem. I had a corrupt outcmd.dat file. Just
deleted it and Outlook recreated the file when I launched
the program. Working now.
