Outlook freezes

Bill

When I access Outlook it opens up, but then I cannot do
anything in the program. When I then exit the program I
receive the message "Program not responding". I then end
the task.

I am using Outlook in Office 2000. I have uninstalled
Office and then reinstalled it. No fix. In fact, my file
of old emails comes up in the new install. Shouldn't this
file have been deleted when I removed the Office program?

Previously Outlook was working fine. Recently I have
tried to establish peer to peer net sharing of my Outlook
files with another computer. (Unsuccessfully) Could I have
done something in this attempt?

The rest of Office (Word and Excel) work fine.
