outlook freezes

Dear all;
when i open outlook express it freezes and there is no response i have
win 2000 with sp4 and outlook express 6.0.1 with service pack 1. if i
uninstall internet explorer 6 and reinstall it again does it solve this
problem. please reply me ASAP.
