outlook hangs on saving synchronization log

I've deployed a SBS 2003 server with Exchange with XP Pro on Lenovo
ThinkCentres and C5 tablets. When some users open Outlook with the Lenovos
it displays that it updating Folders but once all folder are updated the
emails are not viewable in Reading Pane and when opened they lock up Outlook.
If you hit Send/Recieve the progress hangs on Saving Sychronization Log
forever until Outlook is ended through Task Manager. If you look at the
selected folders to synchronize none are checked which leads me to believe
that the initial setup of the user account in Outlook is doesnot actually
complete properly. Outlook functions properly for all users on the C5 tablets
which are using the 2007 Student edition of Office compared to 2007 Pro on
the Lenovos.
