Outlook Hangs (Stops)

When I look at the event log, it says as an information item OUTLOOK has
detected a catalog checkpoint.
Then, as a serious error "Hanging application in OUTLOOK.EXE v 12.0.651.5000
hang module hungungapp Ver 0.0.0.0. hung address 0x00000000
No errors reported when a do the diagnostics.

Any clues?
