A customer is having an unusual problem. Using Outlook
2002 on XP, whenever they try to send a message, the dial-
up connection is terminated and the message is never
sent. A message pops up that says the message wasn't
sent and the message is stored in the Outbox. When they
start Outlook up on the next connection, the message
automatically tries to go, but the connection is lost
again. This time, the message is moved to the 'Sent'
folder.
After that, Outlook will work properly (receiving mail is
no problem) until they try to send another message. It
is consistent and 100% predictable.
We have recommended that the customer switch to our
Webmail service and they are likely to. I'm still
curious about this however. What would cause this kind
of behavior?
