Outlook Hangs When Downloading

Outlook 2003 has started hanging when downloading
messages. Running XP Pro with McAfee Virus Scan.
Reinstalled Outlook without impact. Noted Outlook
unexpectedly started to synchonrize when hanging. MS
Server not involved.

Could be you have a corrupted message in your mailbox. Try using your
ISP's webmail interface to check your e-mails, deleting those you don't
want (or have huge attachments), and retrying the download to Outlook.

Could be McAfee's scanning of your inbound emails is hanging (or taking
so long for huge e-mails that it looks like it is hanging). Try
disabling its e-mail scan to see if the problem goes away.
