Outlook Hyperlinks and 3rd Party Web Browsers

I had a problem with a 3rd party browser called Maxthon. When I
uninstalled it I began having problems opening hyperlinks in my Outlook.

I was unable to fix it by making IE the default program, and further more
the add programs was "greyed out" and I could not change them.

I finally reinstalled the Maxthon browser and did not allow it to be set as
the default browser. I then checked the settings to make sure that IE was
indeed the default browser. I tested it with several e-mails and hyperlinks
and voila it worked. I could open the links with Outlook.

Then I uninstalled Maxthon again (2nd time) and when the uninstaller
prompted me to keep my settings I said no. (I remember that the first time I
performed the uninstall I kept the settings) The hyperlinks still work and IE
is the default program again...life is good.

I figured worst case I could leave Maxthon installed and just not use it.

Hope this helps, I see alot of you out there looking for an answer.

You can still use the third party browser - just not as the default.
