outlook hyperlinks hang

Clicking a hyperlink from a message in Outlook normally
opens Internet Explorer instantly.

Recently, when clicking the links, Outlook appear to hang
and it takes 30 to 60 seconds to open Internet Exploror.
Then Outlook goes back to normal.

Any ideas?

The links are not script links or anything "out of the
ordinary"
