Outlook Integration - Word as email editor

Hi,

We develop integration capabilities between MS Office, and
an electronic document management system (EDM). Our
integration is built using a dll (written in Smalltalk)
which interfaces to the Exchange Client Extensions
(IExchExt) and provides some menu options and what not so
users can save emails to the EDM.

We're having problems at the moment when users have
selected to use Word as their Outlook email editor.
When this is the case, we lose some of the integration we
have built into Outlook. e.g - we add menu options to
Outlook's compose window, but when word is the email
editor, these options are not available.
I could add those options to a Word template - at least
for Office 2003 - but then those options will be present
when using Word separately, which I don't want.



Any ideas?
