Outlook locking up

L

Larry

When I check my email in Outlook, it will sometimes show
an error in file ccApp.exe, saying it has closed and has
to be restarted, after which Outlook will fail to send or
receive any email at all. Any attempt to do so, brings an
error for each email account saying that the server could
not be found. Closing and restarting Outlook will not fix
this, and only rebooting my computer will get Outlook to
work again! :( This is a real pain!

I know the file is related to Norton Antivirus, but have
no idea how to fix the situation. I have a large number
of email accounts (around 20), so tried dividing them into
two groups in case the problem was related to the number
of accounts being checked, but this has not helped. The
problem is most likely to happen when I check my email
after not having checked it for a number of hours, when a
lot of email (mostly spam, unfortunately) is coming down
into several of the accounts. It happens often enough to
drive me a bit nuts, and I would appreciate any
suggestions as to how to fix this and get it to stop
happening. Also, is there any way to restart the
ccApp.exe program without rebooting the entire computer?
Thanks for your help.

Have you run Norton Update already? If it continues to fail I suggest you
disable the Office/Outlook integration of Norton and contact Symantec.
