I get the following message when setting up an Outlook 2007 e mail account "
you don't have appropriate permission to perform this operation." First time
set up for Outlook 2007, I am the computer Administator, have not set any
permissions that I remember. All other Office 2007 programs work fine. I do
have one VPN that I seldom use, it is logged off.

Are you allowing Outlook to autoconfigure the account or are you doing it
manually via the Mail applet in Control Panel? What type of account?

I tries it both ways. I found the answer to the problem in some very old
posts, searching under permsiion.
