Outlook mail profiles change

I have several machines ranging from Win98 and Office 2000
to W2K and XP with Office 2000 and Office XP that change
mail server settings on an intermittant basis. I find that
the outgoing mail server will suddenly be set to the
incoming mail server. I have not been able to find a
resolve through microsoft on this. Has anyone else
experienced this issue?
