Outlook not archiving

I'm trying to 'manually' archive old email. I set the date to archive before,
and it says its archiving, but none of the email physically moves, nor is it
in any of the archived folders. I haven' modified any of the messages I'm
archiving.

Any suggestions?

You need to view the modified date of your msgs, Archive works on modified

For some reason, I couldn't reply to DL.

They have not been modified. The messages are from/dated 2008...so I set it
to be "before May 2008" to archive. It appears they are being archived at the
bottom of the screen, but they don't move, nor do they appear in the folder.

The date when the messages were received is not the determining factor, as DL
already said. You should add the Modified column to your Inbox view to see
what dates will be used for archiving purposes.

How to add the Modified Column ?

I can see from another post that you have discovered why nothing was being
archived, but to finish this thread, you can add the Modified column by
right-clicking the header line (the one that contains the columns "From",
"Subject", "Received", etc.) and choosing "Field Chooser" or by clicking the
Field Chooser icon in the Advanced toolbar, selecting "Date/Time fields" from
the top drop-down in the Field Chooser, and dragging the Modified field from
the Chooser to the header line in the position where you'd like to see it.
