outlook not loading

Everytime I try to load Microsoft Outlook it gets "hung-up" and I get the
box that says the program has stopped responding. This just happened
tonight. I have rebooted my computer several times with no results. I am
not getting an error message. There was an error message relating to memory
(Kern ??) before earlier but those are common since I installed Norton
Security (it is disabled but still a problem). I can't get to my email files
until this is resolved. Help please

What version of Outlook? There have been many reports of incompatibilities
with NIS if this is Outlook 2003. try a new mail profile here: Control
Panel->Mail Icon->Show Profiles->New. Do not copy your old one.

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

I can't tell you for sure the version because I can't open it. Also,
changing the mail profile does nothing if I can't open Outlook.
Assuming I could open outlook what would a new mail profile do for me?

I have a similar problem with Outlook 2003. It opens and then immediately
closes, but i don't get any error or non-responsive messages. If I open it in
safe mode (run - outlook/ safe) it sends and receives mail, but i cannot open
the emails.
Any suggestions on how I can get it working again?

I have Outlook 2000. I did finally get it to load after rebooting many many
times. It took about 5 minutes the first time for it to load. Now it seems
fine. It is receiving mail and loads normally. But I can't begin to tell
you why.
