Outlook not registering with Vista

Outlook 2003 is not an option in the "program access and computer defaults"
in Control Panel. When I try to use File>send link in Firefox it opens
Windows Mail instead of Outlook, but I cant change it because it is not
available. I did change the default in Outlook itself though. Can someone
help? It would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried going to Control Panel in Vista and setting defaults there?
Open control panel and switch to classic view. You should see "Default
Programs". Opening that you should see a link to set default programs.
Outlook should show in the list there and you will see an option to "set as
default".

I want to clarify, I know you were in control panel but I'm refering you to
a different applet then what you said you were at...
