Outlook, which we use for business e-mail only, will not
send test messages or real messages. It keeps trying to
set up a new account. I have triple-checked and renetered
all my settings several times. I am running XP Pro,
Outlook 2002 IBM ThinkCentre with IBM
preload. Browser was hijacked last week by two different
ad-ware/mal-ware/spyware programs that seem to have also
included an e-mail virus. The url involved in the hijack
was res:hgvwq.dll/index.html#12802 Have run hijackthis,
spybot, done scans at panda and trend; am also running
McAFee online version 8.0+ online auto update version. I
have auto updates for windows and office. Last update
was, I believe Wednesday from MS IE. I have also run
Buster, Spykiller (now deleted since I learned that it is
bogus).
This system has been in operation since November, 2003.
Your thoughts would be appreciated.
